Random conversations are the best! The other day I was minding my business when a client/tenant saw I was outside. He stopped everything he was doing, put down his stuff, looked at me and asked, “Hey, I saw a thing called renters insurance on the portal site. What is that all about?” After a few minutes, he said, “Oh, I’m going to have to look into that. I have x, y, z,…and that is good to know.” Naturally, the conversation continued on for a little longer with other great little stories and shares.
The point of this share comes down to trusting you are in the right place at the right time. I was put there for this interaction, and what I call it the meat and taters after all the dancing around one needs (me, you, whoever) to feel comfortable enough to ASK questions. It’s just like when a teacher reminds a class that there are no stupid questions, be respectful and mindful of that. We have the capacity to really help and be there for each other when we just don’t know. If anything, those random moments can prompt a person to think of keywords and go look stuff up online.
