“Chop wood…carry water.” I love that phrase when things are good, great, perfect, and even a perceived opposite as the shit doth hit the fan. In my point of view, it means life is still rocking and rolling to a great sphere of music and neutrality till a label is attached. Ha!
Many things have transpired and I’ve had to call myself out on some drama/trauma and rinse/repeat patterns. Thank goodness those things showed up so I could/can make a different choice(s). Sitting with being “meh” is the basic “…asphyxiation of an indoor, sedentary life..” (If You Want to Write, Brenda Ueland, page 42 – I love, love, love, that phrase!). Can’t stand “meh”, but couldn’t see the one till it popped up. Geesh. Embarrassing. And boy, no one likes embarrassing anything, however, gonna happen. Yesss…I’m warming to the idea of sharing publicly since evidentially my stories are a spice of “you’ve had an interesting life”. (Thanks new doc to the area. Want to ask another question for another story? Ha!) Enough of that though! To the back burner with you! I have other adventures.
Yesterday, I switched shifts with a co-worker. I decided I was going to go to the library. OOOO… I checked the hours online, but not open. Crud. So, I went to Goodwill to cruise through the book section. An interesting evolution of my senses: I couldn’t stand the old musty smells. I started gagging and sneezing sooo bad it was a bust and left. No book cruising for me. I ended up running into a friend though. Good times.
Ah! The other day I was in 100% shock when I asked for and got appliances not only approved, but ordered. What the fuck? That was cool. And naturally, apartment shenanigans continue with highs and lows as well. Folks never cease to impress. Ha! It is a chop wood, carry water a lot of the time.
Ciao!
